Multicultural Assembly at East And What to Expect
Amelia Long, December 6th 2024
The multi-cultural assembly is an annual celebration at East High that has had all kinds of performances; traditional dances, musicians, and spoken word phrases that celebrate the diversity that is present at East.
Many have already auditioned for the multi-cultural assembly on Friday 22nd as it was canceled on the 21st for an unknown reason.
Students that have participated in previous years have bravely represented their cultures and have encouraged our student body to celebrate the wide range of diversity at East High.
In the upcoming assembly we will expect all the cultures that are represented to be a memorable experience, displaying the highlights of the student’s cultural heritage providing a unique opportunity for every student at east high to acknowledge and appreciate.
In addition to the performances there possibly will be cultural displays of artifacts, traditional clothing, and cultural flags, which will serve as educational tools to show the students the deeper meaning of the world’s diverse cultures.
The Multicultural Assembly is not just for entertainment it is an educational experience; it aims to promote cultural awareness celebrating the differences that make each student unique, encouraging a sense of unity and respect among the student body. It is an opportunity for students to learn about each other’s backgrounds and to recognize the value of diversity in the community.
All the students participating in the performance this Friday will be celebrating their culture in way that the observers will understand, more inclusivity is expected, and for the students to be encouraged into being proud of their culture and celebrate it in a way that makes them understand how important it is to keep traditions in cultures alive.
The bell schedule for the assembly on Friday December 13th is a B-day and will not be a short day.
