Battle of the Lake

Last week East got their rematch against their rivals, the West Panthers, and it was a great game.

We hosted the game at East, at 7, on Thursday, and the theme of the game bling out. Last year, sadly our leopards had a crushing loss against the Panther with a 33-16 score. This year, our leopards have a chip on their shoulders going into the week and plan to get revenge for last years team. This great rivalry will be exciting as it was risen last year after a whole decade! The last time we played them before last year was 2012, and we won 48-9. East vs West is one of the oldest rivalry games in Utah. It was to be beautiful night in Salt Lake City as two teams face each other for the 114th time and this rivalry was loud and the stands were packed this year.

Game Recap: Our East Leopards faced a tough loss against West, ending the game 40-13 in a Region 6 matchup. The Panthers took control early, scoring 22 points by halftime. We managed to get on the board with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Loertscher in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to catch up.

This wasn’t the outcome that our leopards were looking for but a great night for the seniors to celebrate their last home game for their last ride. Hats off to the seniors for everything they have done for their team and onto the playoffs we go!
