Salt Lake City Bees Final Baseball Game

On Sunday September 22, 2024, the Salt Lake City Bees played their last baseball game at Smith’s Ballpark before the team moves to a new stadium in Daybreak, UT next baseball season. 

 During their final game, the bees lost to Oklahoma City 3-1. Oklahoma City made 1 run during the first inning giving them the lead. During the 3rd inning the bees made 1 run to make the teams tie. Then in the seventh and eighth innings Oklahoma makes the last 2 runs of the game giving them the win.  Oklahoma had back-to-back wins against the bees. Oklahoma won 4 out of the six games played against the bees.  

On X (twitter) the Salt Lake Citys Bees said 13,450 showed up to the final game. 

 Smith’s Ballpark stadium has been open since 1994 for 30 years and is now closing in 2024 for a new stadium with a stadium. This new team will be able to compete in the Major League unlike before when they would compete in Minor League baseball. 

 Fans are upset that the smith's ballpark stadium is closing. Some fans said they are going to miss the view of the Wasatch front, and some fans are saying it is the end of an era.
