The first attempt was on July 13th, 2024. Just at the beginning of summer where during one of his rallies a hit the former president, Trump in the Ear.
The shooter was a. A 20-year-old man who lived in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and worked as a dietary aid at a nursing home and rehabilitation center Named Thomas Mathew Crooks. Crooks had his first voting season and rather than casting a ballot and voting he decided to drive an hour from his home and climbing up a roof where he took a shot at the former president. While the incident left President trump with a nick to the ear three others were not so lucky. One of these three, Corey Comperatore age 50, was killed by the stray bullets intended for the former president while shielding his family. Two others were injured but are in stable condition.
While a tragedy for the family members and those at the July 13th trump rally there was some justice as Crooks was taken out by secret service.

While the former president was golfing a secret service agent saw a rife poking through the fence when he engaged the would-be shooter.
The suspect then fled using a black Nissan and was later caught and arrested.
The shooter was Ryan Wesley Routh who was only 500 feet from the president at the time using a “SKS-style 7.62x39 caliber rifle with a scope” to take aim at the former president. The reason “Delusions of grandeur”
Routh tried to bring people over to fight in Ukraine with unofficial means making a false recruitment website. Believing he could instantly send people to an active warzone instead of following proper chain of command.
“He seemed to have this delusion of grandeur thing, where he was the … I’ve seen this with some other volunteers on smaller scales … they’re the only one really helping Ukraine,” says Evelyn Aschenbrenner, an American citizen who served for two years in the International Legion in Ukraine.
